The United Arab Emirates has announced a set of precautionary measures affecting travellers from three African countries as part of efforts to strengthen preparedness against potential Ebola virus outbreaks.The measures, jointly issued by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), apply to nationals and travellers from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan.Authorities said the decision is part of the UAE’s preventive and proactive public health strategy aimed at responding to developments linked to the Ebola virus while safeguarding national health security.Under the new directive, all new visas—including visit visas—for nationals of the three countries will be suspended.
