Following its past live-action games such as Death Come True, Izanagi Games is working on Akiba Lost and shared a new demo. This will let anyone who tests it out try one in-game day. It is available on PCs via Steam now, ahead of a planned September 17, 2026 release date. This is part of the Summer Game Fest 2026 festivities like Steam Next Fest. Like games such as 428: Shibuya Scramble, Akiba Lost will take place over a brief period of time and feature multiple main characters’ perspective. Following “The Akiba Vanishing” incident years ago in Akihabara that involved six young women disappearing 13 years, the elder brother of one of the victims and CEO of Shirosawa Games Daiki Shinjo is going to make a game called Akiba Lost that explores what happened and recreates the case with six more women. One of whom happens to be his remaining sister Aoi. In the game, we’ll follow Daiki, Aoi, and the other women cast in the in-game title Chihiro, Kokone, Moe, Yukimi, and Wakana. By swapping between their perspectives and making choices as each one, you might find out what happened with the original “The Akiba Vanishing” women and what’s going on now. An Akiba Lost demo is live on PCs via Steam now, and the full game will be on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC on September 17, 2026.
