Hi everyone! My coursemate and I are Honours students at Macquarie University, and we are currently recruiting participants for a research study exploring whether music listening may help reduce pain and stress in people living with chronic pelvic pain. We’re posting here because we know many people in this community have lived experience with pelvic pain, and we recognise how difficult and exhausting it can be to navigate. We’re hoping this research can contribute, in a small way, to improving understanding and support in this area. The study involves: - Two online surveys (~30 minutes each; before and after the study) - Creating two 20-minute playlists (one for high-pain days and one for low-pain days) - Listening to your chosen playlist for 20 minutes a day over one week - An optional 30-minute interview for selected participants As a thank you, participants who complete the study will be entered into a draw to win one of six $50 gift vouchers. If you're interested in participating or would like more information, you can find the study here: https://mqedu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_42yBxiwUgK4S9aS This study has been approved by the Macquarie University Human Ethics Committee (ID: 520261898167594). Please feel free to contact the researchers at [sumin.yeo@students.mq.edu.au](mailto:sumin.yeo@students.mq.edu.au) or [dannielle.clutterbuck@students.mq.edu.au](mailto:dannielle.clutterbuck@students.mq.edu.au) if you have further questions. Participants must: Have chronic pelvic pain/ an associated condition Be assigned female at birth Be over 18 years of age Have access to a music streaming service Be proficient in english Live in Australia Do not have a hearing impairment that impedes your ability to listen to music. We understand that this might exclude some people who are interested in our study! If you don't meet our inclusion criteria but want to find out more, please do drop us an email!
