Just like in real life, the weather changes in LumenTale: Memories of Trey. But it’s not just for aesthetic purposes; weather patterns play a big role in combat and what type of Animon appear in the wild. Each area or city in Talea experiences its own weather. For example, it might be raining in Area 04, and then you cross over into Area 05, and the sun’s out and there’s not a single raindrop in sight. Although there’s no in-game weather forecast that’ll tell you if it’ll be rain or shine, you can tell what the weather is based on the on-screen effects as well as the indicator on the top-right side of the screen next to the map. When it’s raining, you’ll get a rain symbol and you’ll see raindrops splash across your screen. Weather appears in combat as a visual effect on the screen. Weather influences the type of Animon that appear in an area. Soblin, for example, spawns in Area 17, but only when its snowing. On the other hand, Rainxy only appears if it’s raining. In some cases, certain special evolutions also require specific weather conditions, like Cadedro, which only evolves in the rain, or Minube, which evolves when there’s a rainbow. Though there’s no real tutorial that lists out all the weather patterns in the game and their effects, the loading screen tips clue us in to all the ones that have a chance of appearing and how they influence combat. As of writing, there doesn’t seem to be any definitive way to change the weather in LumenTale. I’ve tried resting at fountains, moving between areas, and fast-traveling from city to city. The weather in LumenTale seems to be on a timed cycle, meaning it switches weather conditions on a set time that can’t be influenced by player action.
