Jacob Smith, 20, (left) was hospitalized after coworker Jalani Bluett, 23, (right) threw hot oil on himA 20-year-old McDonald’s manager was taken to the ICU after sustaining life-changing injuries when a coworker threw hot oil on his face. Jacob Smith, 20, was hospitalized following the incident, and he is still being treated for severe injuries, including third-degree burns to his face, neck, hands, and shoulders, at UC Davis Medical Center. The employee, 23-year-old Jalani Bluett, was arrested by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department on June 1 and charged with multiple felonies after initially fleeing the scene. The Sheriff’s office asked for the public’s help in locating Bluett, describing him as “at risk due to a diagnosis and vulnerabilities.”Bluett has since pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges, the Sacramento Bee reports.A fundraiser for Jacob has raised over $100,000 to help pay for rent and housing expenses, bills, lost income, and medical expenses.“At just 20 years old, Jacob has worked hard to build a future for himself. He is engaged to be married and has always been responsible, hardworking, and committed to those he loves. This unexpected tragedy has created a major setback at a time when he should be looking forward to building his life and planning his future,” the fundraiser explains. “While Jacob focuses on healing, he will be unable to work and earn an income. The financial burden of lost wages, everyday living expenses, transportation, and recovery-related costs will continue to grow in the weeks and months ahead.”“As his mother, it broke my heart when he looked at me and said, ‘Why would he do this to me?,’” Smith’s mother, Amber Smith, said in the GoFundMe description. The heartbroken mother told KCRA that the burn injuries cover “the whole side of his face, down his neck, all the way down his right arm, and across his back.”“The pain he’s experiencing is so excruciating that they can’t give him the level of pain medicine outside of the ICU,” she said. “They’re just telling me that their goal right now is to decrease the size of the burn on his back and his neck area to try to minimize the amount of skin grafting that they’re looking at having to do, but, you know, it’s going to potentially become more painful.”“I want justice to be served. I want him to serve the time that he needs to serve, you know, for what he’s done to my son… I don’t wish bad things towards him,” Smith added. “I want him to understand what he did, like really understand what he did, and the pain that he caused to my son was excruciating.”WATCH:!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v78szci","div":"rumble_v78szci"});In another interview, Smith’s mother told ABC 10 that her son is a “God-fearing,” gracious young man. “He would give anything to anybody. If he had $5 in his wallet and you needed it, he would just give it to you,” she said, noting that the burns cover 22% of his body and that he’s been in “excruciating pain.”Yuba City police Lt. Michael Bullard also shared more details on the incident and Bluett’s arraignment hearing last week.WATCH:!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v78t1dc","div":"rumble_v78t1dc"});The post HORROR! 20-Year-Old McDonalds Manager Hospitalized With Third Degree Burns After Employee Threw Hot Oil on Him – “Why Would He Do This to Me?” (VIDEO) appeared first on The Gateway Pundit.
