At Summer Game Fest 2026, we got to see the Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion and teaser for a new elder dragon. That will come out in 2027. It will be on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC and, as usual, require you to own the base game to play. This teaser also suggested it is a “massive expansion.” As the Ascendance name suggests, this new expansion will take Monster Hunter Wilds players into a new biome that is in the sky. We see how the Seikret is used to traverse this new area. It also looks like Kushala Daora appears in this new update. At the end of the footage, it also seems like this might mark a return of Lao-Shan Lung to the series. Here’s the trailer for the new expansion. We see clips of many of the human characters we met in the base game. There’s also quite a bit of gameplay, including many monsters that will show up in the new area.
