Declareth the BLS.....Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 172,000 in May, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.3 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains occurred in leisure and hospitality, local government, and health care. Employment in financial activities declined.Nothing moved the needle materially. That is, the report declares neither that the employment situation is "hot" or "cold", thus neither is a factor in "liquidity" (The Fed) nor is there a "roaring economy."The population-adjusted 12-month run rate remains deeply negative at -1.873 million.
