Veteran singer Toolman Kibalama has paid an emotional tribute to the late Master Parrot, saying his death reopened wounds he thought had healed decades ago.Master Parrot was laid to rest on Wednesday in Kammengo after losing his life in a road accident. Reflecting on the tragedy, Toolman drew parallels between Master Parrot’s death and the deaths of fellow Fire Base Crew members Weather Man and Dizzy Nuts, recalling the painful memories they shared alongside Bobi Wine.According to Toolman, the news of Master Parrot’s passing instantly reminded him of the death of Weather Man in 2005.The death of Master Parrot just opened the wounds I thought had healed in me for over 20 plus years after the death of Weather Man.He recounted how Bobi Wine called him with the devastating news after Weather Man was involved in a road accident while heading to Club Silk. The singer informed him that Weather Man’s body had been taken to City Mortuary in Mulago.Determined to see his friend one last time, Toolman visited the mortuary early the following morning, relying on a family connection with one of the workers there. The experience, he said, left a lasting scar.I entered the city mortuary around 7:00 am and saw Weather Man first-hand with his locks, brown jumper and Timberland boots on, laying on the floor with other dead bodies.Toolman added that the disturbing scene haunted him for months, often leaving him unable to sleep as he struggled to process the loss. This scene tortured my life for over six months in my single room in Kamwokya. I could just sit on the bed with my back leaning on the wall all night.Despite the emotional toll, Toolman explained that life in Kamwokya at the time demanded resilience, leaving little room to openly deal with grief.Back then living in Kamwokya was like surviving in the Serengeti. Our survival instincts were high, and depression we saw it as a luxury which I couldn’t afford.Toolman said Master Parrot’s death followed a similar pattern, bringing back memories he had worked hard to overcome.Eddy Kenzo credits Bobi Wine for laying foundation of his music careerHe also remembered the significant role Bobi Wine and Master Parrot played in his career, revealing that the two gave him his first microphone check at a show held at Continental Hall during the popular Trans-Day gigs.Bobi Wine and Master Parrot handed me my first mic check at Cont Africa Hall on Trans-Day gigs organised by themselves. The respect of these brothers I will die with it.Concluding his tribute, Toolman remembered all three fallen friends, Weather Man, Dizzy Nuts, and Master Parrot, saying their memories would forever remain with him.The post Toolman Kibalama honors fallen friends in heartfelt tribute appeared first on MBU.
