Tallinja Boosts Services To Popular Summer Destinations

Malta Public Transport has announced a series of route changes and increased frequencies as part of its summer timetable, with several popular beach and coastal routes set to benefit.The first phase of the changes will come into effect on 13th June, with additional adjustments scheduled for 5th July.Routes serving popular summer destinations including Buġibba, Ċirkewwa and Għajn Tuffieħa will operate more frequently to accommodate increased demand during the warmer months.Among the biggest changes, Route 212 between Sliema and Buġibba will run every 20 minutes on weekdays from mid-June before increasing to every 15 minutes from July.Routes 221, 222, 223 and 225 will also see frequency improvements, particularly on services connecting commuters to some of Malta’s busiest beaches.Meanwhile, Route 53 between Valletta and Rabat will operate every 30 minutes on weekdays, effectively doubling the service.Not all routes will see an increase, however. Malta Public Transport said Routes 61, 72, 73 and 43 will operate at revised frequencies during the summer months, while school-related routes X1A, 150 and 207 will be suspended from 5th July following the end of the scholastic year.Passengers are encouraged to check the Tallinja app for full details of the updated schedules.Will these changes make your commute easier?•
