The Coolmore partners' Benvenuto Cellini (Frankel) could make a quick reappearance in Royal Ascot's G2 King Edward VII Stakes on Friday, June 19, according to trainer Aidan O'Brien.Favoured in the G1 Betfred Derby, the colt finished 10th before being declared a non-runner after getting a hind foot caught in the stalls. Fellow Ballydoyle runner Christmas Day (Camelot) would go on to win the Blue Riband.O'Brien told Kevin Blake in an attheraces.com stable tour, “There's a chance he could run in the King Edward. We have to see how he is in the coming days, but we're working back from the King George with him and we are worried that the ground for the Irish Derby could come up too soft for him.“If everyone is happy with him in the coming days we might just send him to Ascot as we know he'll get his favoured firmer ground there.”The master of Ballydoyle currently needs just four victories to reach a century of Royal Ascot winners. He fields G1 Irish 2000 Guineas winner Gstaad (Starspangledbanner) and Group 1-winning stablemate Puerto Rico (Wootton Bassett) in the G1 St James's Palace Stakes as they face off against the likes of Bow Echo (Night Of Thunder), Talk Of New York (Wootton Bassett) and French Guineas scorer Rayif (Sea The Moon).On the distaff side, G1 1000 Guineas heroine True Love (No Nay Never) locks horns with Precise (Starspangledbanner), who won the Irish equivalent, in the G1 Coronation Stakes the same day as the King Edward VII.Among the older horses, dual Oaks heroine Minnie Hauk (Frankel) steps up in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes against her Arc conqueror Daryz (Sea The Stars).O'Brien said, “The Prince Of Wales's Stakes has been her aim. We feel that the Tattersalls Gold Cup just didn't play out well for her and we are prepared to forgive that run.“She obviously stays further and a well-run race suits her well.
