Former Union minister Smriti Irani's name is missing from the Medan Mawai village panchayat voter list in Amethi. This comes despite her presence in Lok Sabha and Assembly electoral rolls for the area. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter. Irani, who represented Amethi in Lok Sabha until 2024, built a residence in the village and voted there previously.
