Newcastle United have been handed a boost in the club’s pursuit of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz. Eddie Howe has made the signing of the Spanish winger his top priority to replace Anthony Gordon, following his £69m transfer to Barcelona. The Magpies have agreed a deal worth around €34m (£29.3m) for the 22-year-old, who scored six goals and laid on two assists in 33 La Liga appearances.Munoz also ranked in the top 11% of wingers across Europe for progressive carries and successful dribbles last season. He marked his Spain debut with a goal against Serbia in March, and has been included in the squad for this summer’s World Cup.
