Richard Gibson has been appointed the international client relations director for Arqana. The former trainer will begin his new role on June 15.This appointment is part of a strategy to attract new clients worldwide while retaining the loyalty of buyers who regularly attend the sales in Deauville. Gibson will strengthen sales promotion efforts in various foreign markets. He will also be tasked with continuing to improve the welcome extended to buyers when they attend the sales.Gibson has over 25 years as a trainer (1997-2023) and spent 14 years in France before spending 12 years in Hong Kong. He won over 800 races, including 17 at Group 1 level.Gibson said, “I am very much looking forward to joining the Arqana team and putting my experience and skills to work for the French market, to which I owe a great deal. Buying a horse – whether it's a foal, a yearling, a horse in training, or a broodmare – is always a unique experience, and I hope to contribute positively to that in my future role at Arqana. My role will be to provide the highest possible level of service to our buyers and sellers, whether they are first-time clients at Arqana sales or regulars.
