Spring may be over soon, but it has left Malta heading into summer with significantly less rainfall than usual.According to the Meteorological Office, only 60.4mm of rain was recorded during spring, falling short of the seasonal average of 68.7mm. Most of that rainfall came during March, which alone accounted for more than three quarters of the season’s total.While March was wetter than average, both April and May were notably dry. Just 3.2mm of rain was recorded throughout May, making it 7.1mm below its monthly average. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Despite the lack of rainfall, temperatures remained close to the seasonal norm, with spring averaging 17.3°C, around 0.5°C warmer than average.Meanwhile, summer has wasted no time making its presence felt.The first week of the meteorological summer has brought sunny skies and temperatures ranging between 30°C and 32°C, with similarly warm conditions expected to continue throughout the week.UV levels have also risen sharply, reaching level 10, which is considered very high. Authorities are encouraging people to take precautions when spending time outdoors as the hot weather continues.Ready for summer?•
