Tiger suffers injuries in Muthodi, officers place cage to capture animal - The HinduPublished - June 13, 2026 09:01 pm IST - ShivamoggaFollowing reports that a tiger in Muthodi Range was suffering from injuries, officials of Bhadra Wildlife Division in Chikkamagaluru have set a cage to capture the animal. A team led by a veterinarian has been constituted to provide treatment once the tiger is caught.Pulkit Meena, Deputy Conservator of Forests of the Bhadra Wildlife Division, told The Hindu that officers received information about the injured tiger two days ago. “The cause of the injuries is unclear. However, we have placed a cage to capture it. Once caught, we will proceed with treatment and other necessary procedures,” Mr. Meena said.PleaMeanwhile, social activist Dinesh Kallahalli of Kanakapura, Bengaluru South district, wrote to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and APCCF (Wildlife) alleging that the tiger sustained injuries after becoming entangled in a snare allegedly placed in a private estate in violation of wildlife laws.Camera trap images from estates in the range show the animal with a metallic snare encircling its body, according to Mr. Kallahalli. He claimed the tiger has been moving around with the snare embedded in its flesh, causing further injury.
