Collector inspects construction of Government Headquarters Hospital, bus stand in Tindivanam

Villupuram Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction of the Government Headquarters Hospital at Tindivanam.The hospital, being built at an outlay of ₹66.89 crore will have among others emergency operation theatres, triage, digital x-ray room, sonogram room, MRI and CT scan, general surgery ward, toxicology ward, paediatric intensive care unit, isolation ward, dialysis unit, trauma ward, nurses room, rooms for doctors, blood store room, record room, public waiting area, medicine store and pharmacy. After inspecting the construction, the Collector asked the officials and the contractor to ensure quality at all levels.The Collector also inspected the ongoing construction of a new bus stand in Tindivanam. The bus stand is being constructed by the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department at a cost of ₹20 crore. The bus stand will have 50 bus bays, 61 shops, an administrative room, two restaurants, a time control office, a ticket booking counter, an automated teller machine room and toilets. The Collector directed the officials to complete the work as per schedule so that the facility could be opened to public at the earliest.Published - October 01, 2025 05:45 am IST
