Light magnitude 3.9 earthquake at 5 km depth3 Oct 03:25 UTC: First to report: USGS after 7 minutes.Update Fri, 3 Oct 2025, 03:27Magnitude 3.9 earthquake strikes near Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho, USAA very shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported in the evening near Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho, USA.According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at 9:19 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
