Last week, Samsung released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy A26, which brought a new user interface as well as many new features, which you can read about here or watch them in action in our video below. However, the brand had made it available only in Vietnam. Now, Samsung is rolling it out in Europe as well (via @rezasadat801). The update is 2,357MB in size and carries firmware version A266BXXU4BYI2, as you can see in the screenshot below. To get the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung launched the Galaxy A26 in March 2025 with Android 15-based One UI 7.0, and promised to offer six OS upgrades to the phone. One UI 8.0 is the first major OS upgrade, and the phone should get up to Android 21. In addition to that, the phone will get security update till 2031.On a related note, Samsung is developing Android 16-based One UI 8.5, and it has leaked for the Galaxy S25, which shows that it brings a new user interface as well as new features.
