The Government of Guyana is moving ahead with its housing programme and is now inviting contractors, consortia and even individuals to express their interest in building homes across every Administrative Region. The initiative, being managed by the Ministry of Housing and Water through the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), will cater to a wide range of income brackets and social groups. The models range from compact two-bedroom low-income units measuring 650 square feet, to larger three-bedroom homes designed for middle and high-income families. At the top end, young professional units will measure 2,200 square feet and come with modern features such as hot and cold water systems. Those interested in participating must submit signed statements outlining their preferred regions, along with their business credentials, financial records for 2024, and details about past projects. The CH&PA also requires information on the applicant’s equipment, personnel, proposed financing and work methodology, as well as detailed cost estimates and construction drawings. All expressions of interest must reach the Chairman of the CH&PA Board at the agency’s Brickdam and United Nations Place office in Georgetown no later than 3:00 p.m. on October 24, 2025. The Ministry has cautioned, however, that it reserves the right to accept or reject any submission without explanation. For further details, interested parties can contact the CH&PA Projects Department by telephone during working hours. The post Gov’t invites contractors to build new housing units across all Regions appeared first on Sheriff News Network - Guyana.
