Did everyone miss Samsung’s memo on dealing with a stuck Galaxy Ring?

Wait 5 sec.

It's been two days since a viral post on X where the user had a Galaxy Ring stuck on their finger because the battery had swollen. They couldn't figure out how to get it off initially and eventually needed to go to a hospital to get it removed. Rings, smart or otherwise, get stuck on fingers for any number of reasons. Since smart rings have a battery you just have to be more careful about getting them off but even that's not a problem if you have the right instructions, which Samsung has always provided, so why the drama?Just do what it says on the tinSamsung has a whole page on its website dedicated to instructions on removing the Galaxy Ring if it gets stuck on your finger. Whether that happens if the finger size fluctuates due to swelling or because the battery puffed up, the instructions on how to deal with it are there. In the event that the Galaxy Ring needs to be cut off, Samsung also provides a handy diagram that shows where cuts should be made to safely remove the ring without damaging the battery, along with the necessary warnings that this should only be performed by a medical professional. While there have been reports about excessive battery drain on some Galaxy Ring units, there's no widespread issue of the batteries swelling up. Samsung has itself said that this was an “extremely rare” case, so even if the viral post is pushing over 15 million views in two days, this isn't really a scandal.
