Two Israeli Jewish men from the central Israeli city of Holon arrested for allegedly work on behalf of Iranian spy agencies.By World Israel News StaffIsraeli authorities recently arrested two local men suspected of working on behalf of the Iranian government as spies, Israel Police and the Shin Bet security agency announced on Tuesday.In a joint statement, the police department and the Shin Bet said that Maor Kringel and Tal Amram, both 26-year-old men from the central Israeli city of Holon, were arrested over their alleged ties to Iranian intelligence.Kringel was arrested in August as part of a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the National Unit for International Crime Investigations within the police department’s Lahav 433 taskforce.Investigators say Kringel was recruited by Iranian agents and carried out security missions under their direction.The investigation which culminated in Kringel’s arrest was initiated in early 2025, after authorities learned that Kringel was in regular contact with Iranian intelligence operatives.Among other tasks assigned to him by his handlers, Kringel photographed IDF bases and various other sites in Israel, including during the 12-day war with Iran.In some instances during the war, Kringel is said to have initiated contact with his handlers to offer to carry out additional missions.Kringel regularly contacted individuals linked to VIPemployment, “who openly identify as Iranian intelligence services and operate in an effort to recruit Israelis online,” police and the Shin Bet said.For his services, Kringel was paid in cryptocurrency.As part of his work on behalf of Iran, Kringel attempted to recruit other Israelis to serve as assets.During the months-long investigation, authorities identified Amram as one such recruit, arresting him for his work with Kringel on behalf of Iran.On Tuesday, prosecutors filed a preliminary indictment against the two spies, with the state attorney’s office expected to file a full indictment in the next few days.The post Two Israeli men arrested for spying on IDF bases for Iran appeared first on World Israel News.
