It’s been about a year and a half since Disney unveiled the new Communicore Hall and Plaza to the world, and the reaction was “meh.” Disney Imagineering attempted to reinvent the space in CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza as an event area for festival overflow and special events. However, guests called the space ” lifeless” and “a poorly designed college dining hall.”Credit: DisneySince its opening, Disney has mostly used Communicore Hall as a festival space, selling food and snacks related to the current festival at EPCOT. However, most guests saw that as a waste of space. This summer, Communicore Hall was turned into GoofyCore Hall, giving kids an opportunity to dance with their favorite Mickey sidekick. While it wasn’t an ideal use of that space, at least it had a purpose and was more than a blank canvas. However, Disney kept GoofyCore Hall going for a few extra weeks. However, Disney reopened Communicore Hall today, revealing that Disney has nothing planned for the space. Rather than a welcoming area or something promoting EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival, Disney has replaced GoofyCore Hall with a few tables and blank walls. The reimagining of EPCOT was a disaster. This useless hall and sweltering adjacent event space should get half of WDI fired. @WaltDisneyWorld @TomKMorris https://t.co/F83W90PNs5— OLD DISNEY/NEW DISNEY (@TRVLtruth) September 30, 2025Disney missed a golden opportunity to bring back the culinary and food demonstrations that were once part of the Food and Wine Festival. The demonstrations were removed during the COVID-19 pandemic and have not returned since. What makes this lack of theming even worse is that guests will have to endure it until Christmas decorations return to EPCOT. Disney currently has no plans to change Communicore Hall until it turns into a Santa meet-and-greet during EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays. What do you think of Disney’s decision not to incorporate any fall themes into Communicore Hall? Let us know in the comments.
