Taking note that the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various trade unions of the State public transport corporations had withdrawn their indefinite strike, the High Court of Karnataka on Thursday disposed of a PIL petition, acting on which the court had directed the JAC to hold back the strike till August 7.As the advocate representing the trade unions on Thursday submitted a copy of the resolution passed by the trade unions withdrawing the strike citing the court’s interim directions, a Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice C.M. Joshi, closed the proceedings on the petition. When the advocate for the petitioners sought continuation of the proceedings on the petition to monitor the conciliation process under way among the representatives of the unions, the State government, and the labour officers on the demands of the transport employees, the Bench said that it would not interfere in the conciliation process as it was a PIL petition.Published - August 07, 2025 08:59 pm IST
