The vehicle then struck a crane parked on the western parapet and ultimately ended up in a canal on the eastern side of the road.According to reports, Bibi was thrown from the vehicle and ended up in the canal after the crash. Both she and Niraz were hurt and received help from some bystanders before being taken to Anamayah Memorial Hospital and Skeldon Public Hospital.Bibi was declared dead when she arrived at the hospital, while Niraz was treated for several injuries. On July 30, 2025, he was found guilty of the charges and was consequently sent to prison.During the sentencing hearing on Wednesday, an officer reported that during home visits, Niraz’s family mentioned he has been struggling mentally and physically since the incident and is still receiving treatment for his injuries, with pending surgeries. The probation report also noted that while Niraz is a humble person, he is known for drinking and partying. In December 2022, Bibi started working at the Biotech Lab but was encouraged to leave when her family learned of Niraz’s romantic interest. They disapproved of the relationship due to his personality. After leaving the lab, Bibi found a new job in Williamsburg. The probation report states that on September 13, 2023, around 1:30 hrs., Bibi left her home without telling her partners. By 14:00 hrs, the next day, Niraz’s father informed Bibi’s dad that she was at his house. Bibi’s partners believe she was coerced, as they couldn’t reach her, except when she was alone. Bibi mentioned to her mother that Niraz was abusive and frequently out late partying. In 2024, her partners reached out for help at the Whim Probation Office and the court. The report concludes with the officer noting that while Niraz’s family claimed his injuries were accidental, Bibi’s family felt he showed no remorse. The probation officer noted that the incident severely impacted Bibi’s family’s mental health and disrupted their lives. He acknowledged the pain his actions caused and shared that he is also coping with the emotional trauma from the loss of his partner.
