The move would have seen Lineker front FA Cup coverage during the 2025/26 season before saying his farewells after next summer’s World Cup.However, his immediate exit was instead confirmed a year early after Lineker was sacked by the BBC.It followed accusations of anti-Semitism in relation to a post Lineker had shared on social media.The pro-Gaza video, which he deleted and apologised for, likened supporters of Israel to rats.
