A senior official from the Muslim Brotherhood said that 10% of the organization’s funding goes toward Hamas.By Vered Weiss, World Israel NewsDespite the ongoing war and news reports of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Hamas is still managing to pay salaries, the BBC reports. It is estimated that the terror organization is paying 30,000 people, many of them civil servants in Gaza, a total of $7 million. However, the amount received is just a fraction of their prewar salaries—often just 20%—and the bills have to be distributed in secret locations, given the dissolution of the banking system in the Gaza Strip.Several employees claimed Hamas gave them $300 but said the bills were badly damaged and tattered, and that some of the money wasn’t usable. With severe inflation in Gaza, which the terror group blames on Israel, the money Hamas hands out doesn’t go far, with a kilo of flour allegedly costing $80.Although news reports and Hamas lay the blame on Israel for shortages, many Gazan civilians have complained bitterly about Hamas stealing aid, which confirms a recent U.N. report that the majority of aid arriving in the Gaza Strip is looted.A senior Hamas employee said the terror group had hoarded $700 million in cash and hundreds of millions of shekels in tunnels prior to the group’s massacre on Oct. 7, 2023.The employee said the massive smuggling was overseen by Yahya Sinwar and his brother Mohammed, both of whom were killed by Israeli forces.Hamas has made its money by heavily taxing Gazan civilians and receiving funds from Iran, Qatar and other terror organizations. In addition, reports have confirmed that Hamas seizes humanitarian aid and sells it to civilians at exorbitant prices. The Qassam Brigades, which is funded separately from Hamas, is funded mainly by Iran.A senior official from the Muslim Brotherhood said that 10% of the organization’s funding goes toward Hamas.Civilians in Gaza often complain that they don’t have enough food but look on as special parcels are given to Hamas members.A widowed mother of three told the BBC, “When the hunger worsened, my children were crying not only from pain but also from watching our Hamas-affiliated neighbors receive food parcels and sacks of flour.“Are they not the reason for our suffering? Why didn’t they secure food, water and medicine before launching their Oct. 7 adventure?”The post Hamas still paying salaries in spite of war appeared first on World Israel News.
