TPCC chief urges formation of party committees without delay; ‘vote chori’ campaign to commence on August 14

HYDERABADThe Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has stressed the need to complete the appointment of party committees at the earliest to strengthen the party at the grassroots. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud also urged party leaders to ensure the success of the upcoming second phase of the Janahita Padayatra, now scheduled to begin on August 24 instead of August 23 as announced earlier.He chaired an online meeting attended by AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar on Wednesday.Addressing district-level leaders, Mr. Mahesh Kumar called for the immediate submission of party asset details and urged them to extend all possible assistance to people affected by the recent floods in the State.The meeting endorsed the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) call for a nationwide movement against alleged ‘vote chori’ by the BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI), an issue recently highlighted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. It also resolved to mobilize cadres and the public for mass protests, including a door-to-door signature campaign from September 15 to October 15 aimed at collecting five crore signatures.The agitation will begin with candlelight rallies in all district headquarters across the country at 8 p.m. on August 14, followed by State-level demonstrations from August 22 to September 7 in Hyderabad and other major towns in Telangana, featuring padayatras, vehicle rallies and public meetings. Senior leaders from all wings of the party will be involved in mobilising large crowds.Mr. Mahesh Kumar directed that village-level committees be completed by September 15 while mandal committees by the month’s end.
