The park has reportedly been reserved for a private conference for the upcoming Gartner IT Symposium/Expo, which will last from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.Numerous companies use Walt Disney World as an event space throughout the year. The annual Gartner IT Symposium/Expo has been held at Disney World a number of times before.Specific details regarding Magic Kingdom’s early closure on October 21 are unknown. Based on previous events, visitors should be prepared to see Magic Kingdom close as early as 5 p.m.Last year, EPCOT closed early to host the Gartner event.Earlier this year, Magic Kingdom closed early for an in-house employee celebration. Later this month, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off at the Magic Kingdom. This special, separately ticketed event invites guests to dress up and enjoy limited-edition food, drink, and shopping experiences.The park stays open extra long for this party, allowing guests to take advantage of shorter wait times on popular rides and attractions like Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and TRON Lightcycle / Run.There’s also a lot of construction, and deconstruction, happening at Magic Kingdom.In January, the park bid a temporary farewell to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for an extensive refurbishment. Over the last several months, the roller coaster has received new track pieces, theming updates, and other upgrades. The ride is set to reopen sometime in 2026.In July, Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America closed permanently to make way for Magic Kingdom’s new Piston Peak expansion. Disney announced this project during its D23 event last year, something that left fans quite divided.Regardless of its popularity, Tom Sawyer Island was one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic and historic attractions.
