Hulu app will disappear from your Samsung TV next year

Disney has announced its plans to retire the Hulu app for TVs. It means the dedicated Hulu app won't be available on your Samsung TV (or smart monitor or AI appliances with large touchscreen displays) sometime next year. The service won't go away, though, as it will be fully integrated into the Disney+ app.Hulu has been around for more than a decade, and it is a popular name in the video streaming service. Last year, Disney took the reins of the streaming service and started offering it in the Disney+ app for those who are subscribed to both streaming services. Next year, though, the dedicated Hulu app won't be available, as all its content will be integrated into the Disney+ app on TVs. For Samsung TV users in India, where the JioHotstar app is available instead of Disney+, content from Star TV networks will be renamed to Hulu. Disney also revealed during its latest earnings call that it will bring several improvements to the Disney+ app, including more exciting new features and a more personalised home page.Disney, which also owns the ESPN network that mainly broadcasts sports content, is bringing a new ESPN app. It will launch on August 21 and will bring ESPN’s content to consumers without a traditional cable subscription.
