I just had to explain to my 4-year-old we don't get a birthday week (she got to celebrate at daycare, new school, home with us on the day and with family on the weekend, so 4 days total!), that this was an exception. She understood, was happy with it and moved on. This lady needs a few more birthdays to understand, but I am afraid even that might not help.
