President Dr. Irfaan Ali fired up thousands of supporters at the PPP/C rally on Sunday at Bath, Region Five, declaring that the party has been the constant force in Guyana’s struggles and successes for more than 75 years.“We are your everyday, every season, and every moment. Every time this country needed the PPP, we were right there in every struggle,” Ali told the cheering crowd, tracing the party’s role from the fight against colonialism to independence, the battle to end dictatorship, the restoration of democracy and rebuilding a bankrupt economy.Ali said the PPP/C’s track record speaks for itself — better education, more scholarships, reduced taxes, and strong support for farmers and families — while accusing the APNU/AFC of breaking promises and failing to prosecute a single case of corruption after their 2015 victory.Supporters and Baerbicians gathered at the PPP/C’s Bath rally (Photo: August 10, 2025)“Compare that to today,” he urged, “when we are delivering not just on the simple things but building a future far bigger than anything they have to offer.”Looking ahead, President Ali promised Region Five residents major benefits from the upcoming gas pipeline project, with new jobs and skills training to prepare the next generation. He also highlighted plans for a new four-lane highway and other major infrastructure developments to boost growth in the region while reflecting on the new abattoir and plans for a cold storage facility for farmers.“The opportunities created here must first go to the people in this region,” he said, pledging that the PPP/C would continue to drive transformation at both the local and national levels. The President also warned voters of opposition plans to close sugar estates, saying the September 1 elections are about safeguarding livelihoods and expanding prosperity.“We must stop these people in their tracks by voting for the PPP,” he told the rally. The post Pres.
