Similar happened to someone some years back. Dude saying he needs money. Hasn't eaten in days. They offer him a meal. Declines saying just give him cash instead. They repeat the offer. They'll buy him a meal and he can have something hot and yummy in his belly. Nope. Cash is fine, they don't like the food there. So, they walked away and left him there, allegedly hungry.
