President Irfaan Ali has announced a series of upgrades, including the provision of boats, a bus, and a generator, to improve electricity supply and transportation for schoolchildren in several hinterland communities.Addressing residents of Waramuni in Region One on Wednesday, President Ali acknowledged the ongoing challenges in accessing electricity in remote areas. A new school bus, previously requested by the community, has already been procured and is scheduled to be delivered to Para village by the end of September.Leaders from Waramuni, Manawari, and Haimacabra also highlighted the urgent need for water transportation for students.In response, President Ali has directed the regional chairman to work with local boat builders in Region One to construct three boats, each fitted with a protective shed to ensure comfort and safety for the children during travel.“Not only a boat; a boat with a shed, comfortable for the children,” the President said.Construction of the boats is expected to begin in the coming weeks and should be completed within eight weeks.
