Voters, especially those in Amerindian communities, have been warned by General Secretary of the PPP/C, Bharrat Jagdeo, not to be fooled by Azruddin Mohamed and his promises, saying that when he loses the elections, he will vanish, and they will not get anything he promised.Speaking at a PPP/C rally in Bartica on Saturday, Jagdeo, also the country’s Vice President, warned citizens against accepting money for their votes, and urged residents of Region Seven not to fall for “empty promises.”“They will come to Bartica and to communities across the region… they will promise money if you support them. But after September 2nd, Azruddin Mohamed will disappear. Who will be there to pay the money? You’re not going to get your money,” Jagdeo warned.Bartica residents at the PPP/C rallyHe referenced reports from Georgetown where a woman was allegedly assaulted after trying to collect $50,000 promised by Mohamed’s operatives. Jagdeo also highlighted concerns surrounding Mohamed and associates.“The Mohameds are being investigated by the United States government for a whole string of issues… many on their list are sanctioned, they have lost bank accounts.“Don’t let your village on September 2nd be considered a pariah village,” he told Amerindians, urging them instead to trust the PPP/C’s proven track record.“We are the only party that did what we said… we reject those who divide our people… we’re the only national party in this country, a party that brings together people of every race,” Jagdeo declared. The post Azruddin Mohamed will vanish after elections, Jagdeo says, warning Amerindians not to be fooled appeared first on News Room Guyana.
