It was something many guests had wanted since Dueling Dragons (AKA Dragon Challenge) closed in 2017.Dueling Dragons was an original attraction that opened with Universal’s Islands of Adventure. It was a dual-launch roller coaster where guests chose between two sides, fire or ice. The coaster included dramatic drops, loops, and getting so close to the other track, it looked like you could touch it.Credit: UniversalRelated: Just Weeks In, Epic Universe Confirms Additional Portals—Here’s What To ExpectIn 2010, the ride underwent a small refurbishment and reopened as Dragon Challenge, with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However, the ride officially closed in 2017 and was replaced with Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. And while Dragon Challenge might have been popular, it doesn’t hold a candle to how much people adore Hagrid’s.But as popular as Hagrid’s is, guests were still missing the thrill of a dual-launch coaster. So, the announcement that Universal was building another one sent waves of excitement through fans. Here’s more on the amazing coaster:Share a race across the cosmos on Stardust Racers, a breathtaking, dual-launch coaster reaching incredible speeds up to 62 mph. Board a comet and rocket to the furthest reaches of the stars, at heights up to 133 feet along 5,000 feet of track. Race along an inverted crisscross, known as the “Celestial Spin” in a dazzling display of blazing colors and ethereal music.Credit: UniversalRelated: Fresh Off Epic Universe, Universal Confirms Surprise Expansion Opening in Less Than a MonthUnfortunately, Stardust Racers suffers from what many other Universal attractions do: they are much more restrictive than attractions at Disney. It is one thing that Universal has been constantly criticized about for years — larger guests pay just as much money as everyone else to be in the park, but they can’t ride a lot of the attractions. However, according to Universal team members, modified seating will soon be added to the ride!Popular theme park influencers, Plus Size Park Hoppers, recently visited the new theme park, and headed over to Stardust Racers. Each person sat in the test seat to let followers see what kind of body types might and might not fit on the ride. @plussizeparkhoppers Have you ever been on Stardust Racers at Universal’s Epic Universe?
