(Michael Nagle/Bloomberg)Bank of New York Mellon is open to acquisitions if the right opportunity arises, but is focused on executing its current strategy, says CEO Robin Vince.Vince, who was responding to an analyst question during his company’s earnings call, declined to comment on a recent Wall Street Journal article that reported that BNY approached Northern Trust about a potential acquisition. But he did provide insight into under what conditions BNY would consider an acquisition.“It’s a very high bar for M&A, especially for a large transaction,” he says. “It has to make a lot of sense and [being] a strong cultural fit matters. And of course the financials have to make sense.”
