Amid reports of progress on hostage deal talks in Qatar, President Trump hints at “good news” coming on Gaza after Hamas reportedly agrees to latest Israeli offer.By World Israel News StaffPresident Donald Trump on Wednesday teased a major development regarding the Gaza Strip, amid reports that Hamas has accepted Israel’s latest offer in ceasefire talks in Doha, Qatar.Speaking at a ceremony in the White House marking the formal signing into law of newly-passed legislation, the president lauded White House special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and hinted at “good news” both regarding the Gaza Strip and “a couple of other things” on the administration’s agenda.“Steve Witkoff…good job. And we have good news on Gaza and good news on a couple of things that we are working on on a very high level.”Trump did not elaborate either on the developments regarding Gaza or the other “good news.”However, the comments come amid reports of progress both in hostage deal and Gaza ceasefire talks in Qatar, as well as in efforts to end the fighting between Israel and the Syrian regime in southern Syria.According to the Egyptian Al-Ghad outlet, Hamas has agreed to the latest Israeli proposal for a ceasefire redeployment of IDF forces in the Gaza Strip. The report claimed that Israel’s latest map for a potential withdrawal includes the removal of IDF forces from the Morag Corridor, which separates the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.Hamas has refused to accept Israel’s continued presence in the corridor during a 60-day truce currently on the table.Al-Ghad claims that the newest Israeli map leaves the IDF in control of a 1.2-kilometer-wide zone along the Philadelphi Corridor in southern Gaza, and a 1.1-kilometer-wide zone along the northern and eastern edges of the Gaza Strip.Israel has not confirmed the Egyptian report. The deal currently under consideration would include the gradual return, over the course of five separate releases, of 28 Israeli hostages, including 10 living captives and the remains of 18 slain hostages, leaving 22 captives in the Gaza Strip. The post Trump teases ‘good news’ on Gaza appeared first on World Israel News.
