I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t retry on my wedding dress (beautiful suit dress for second marriage) until the morning of the wedding. I had lost weight and didn’t realize, and my dress was way too big. Called my mom, she said it would probably be ok, she and my brother from California came to my apartment right away, around 7:00 am. She agreed it was not wearable. I called the store, (they weren’t open yet, but someone was there and answered!)they had the smaller size. My brother took me to the mall, they opened the door of the shop and said it needed to be steamed and would take about 30 minutes for the steamer to heat up, etc. My brother and I went for a cup of coffee while waiting. I was bound and determined that nothing would stress me out on my day, and just really enjoyed this one on one time with my brother. Dress was ready, fit perfectly, and the day went on. We’ve been married 25 years. The day went perfectly, especially since I wanted to just enjoy every moment, be present, and not let anything stress me out, knowing that no matter what happened, we would be married at the end of day. Both of my brothers walked me down the aisle, as our dad had passed about 8 years prior.
