(Screengrab)A gunman of a Telangana MLC fired in the air to disperse a crowd of NGO Telangana Jagruthi workers on Sunday afternoon in Hyderabad.According to the police, the gunman was part of Telangana MLC Chintapandu Naveen’s security detail. Naveen is popularly known as Teenmaar Mallanna.“No one had any bullet injuries,” Rachakonda Deputy Commissioner of Police PV Padmaja told the Indian Express.Telangana Jagruthi is led by MLC, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha. Mallanna was suspended from the Congress in March this year on allegations of anti-party activities.Jagruthi workers had gone to Mallanna’s office, which also houses his TV channel – Q News – to protest against comments that he allegedly made against K Kavitha. Mallanna, according to Kavitha, had “outraged her dignity” with his comments on her protest for 42 percent backward classes reservation in Telangana.“The incident happened when a group of Telangana Jagruthi workers entered the office and vandalised the premises,” Rachakonda DCP said.
