Anand Municipal Corporation was one of them that included areas of Anand Municipality, Karamsad Municipality, Vallabh Vidyanagar municipality and some nearby villages.The Gujarat government on Wednesday passed a resolution to rename the recently formed Anand Municipal Corporation as Karamsad-Anand Municipal Corporation, considering the historic legacy of the place connected with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The resolution was passed in a meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Karamsad is the paternal village of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The decision was taken after a demand in that regard was raised before the state government from various quarters, like MLAs, MPs, several organisations, and locals.
