I was an arist doing wall murals and hand painted furniture prior to my retirement. A woman who claimed to be a designer called me and insisted I should do a mural in her entry hall free because it would be so good for my reputation and all her friends would want one. ( About a $4,000 job.) The arrogance and audacity of people never fails to amaze me. I told her she couldn't have found me if I didn't already have a great reputation. But I would be happy to give her a 20% commission from any job I got from her mural after she paid me full price, which ultimately would pay her back in full. She was not amused. On a purely personal note, please don't undervalue yourself and your hard work. Of course you're in it for the money. Everyone has to eat, pay bills and housing and probably help support a dog or cat or a kid or a mother. Your work has value.
