NHAI member inspects stretch of Bharatmala highway, collects samples

As per the release, the NHAI member visited the highway after a 1.35-km-long stretch of it got damaged following spells of rain (File)Member of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Venkatraman, on Sunday conducted an inspection of the Bharatmala highway near Bakutra toll plaza in Santalpur taluka of Patan district and got samples collected, said an official release.Venkatraman also said that if any deficiency is found in the samples, then legal actions will be taken, the release added.The Bharatmala highway connects Rajasthan’s Sanchor to Santalpur in Patan district of Gujarat, spanning 135 km.As per the release, the NHAI member visited the highway after a 1.35-km-long stretch of it got damaged following spells of rain.After collecting the samples of the damaged stretch, the NHAI member also said that the contractor, who had built the road was served a notice, stating that if any deficiency in the samples were found, then legal actions will be taken.Venkatraman also regretted the discomfort being faced by people and assured them of a comfortable travel soon.The NHAI member was also accompanied by Patan Collector Tushar Kumar Bhatt, NHAI Regional Officer Sunil Yadav, and official concerned of the Roads and Buildings Department, among others.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:BharatmalaNHAI
