A clip of the two hugging and leaning in went viral after they were caught on the kiss cam and tried to duck out of frame. At first, frontman Chris Martin brushed it off, joking they were just shy. But the video spread like wildfire online, and now Byron is caught in the middle of a cheating scandal. Cabot, for the record, is Astronomer’s Chief People Officer. Hours after the clip went viral, his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, removed her husband’s last name from social media handles and later deactivated her Facebook account. As for Cabot, public records show she’s divorced, her marriage ended in 2022.Just one day later, on July 18, a source familiar with the incident told Axios that both Byron and Cabot had been placed on leave immediately. Meanwhile, the Board of Directors has launched a formal investigation into what happened. According to the statement, “The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.” The company also cleared up some internet rumours involving another employee, Alyssa Stoddard, claiming she was not the one on the kiss cam. A 2018 exposé by The Information detailed how he allegedly mistreated staff at his old job, Cybereason, a SoftBank-backed cybersecurity firm. Former employees said he lashed out at those who disagreed with him, even threatening to fire them. One said, “You couldn’t challenge him.” Another described the work pressure as unbearable. People started walking out. Those who stayed said the whole vibe turned toxic.
