Mocha businesswoman shot dead during robbery attempt

Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Tesirea Hyman, a businesswoman and clothing vendor of Lot 625 Mocha, East Bank Demerara.The incident occurred around 14:30 hrs at her boutique located at Lot 297 Mocha.According to police reports, Hyman was approached by two masked men on a motorcycle, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The suspects reportedly attempted to rob her, but she resisted. During the struggle, she was shot six times.The gunshot wounds were detailed as follows:* Three to the left side of her lower abdomen* Two to the right side of her lower abdomen* One shot under her right breastThe suspects fled the scene on the motorcycle, heading north. Emergency Medical Technicians from the Eccles Fire Service responded, and a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) later pronounced Hyman dead at 16:40 hrs.Police, led by Superintendent Wayne DeHearte, Commander of Regional Division 4B, processed the scene.
