In her police complaint, the girl's mother said the sexual assault occurred when her daughter was sitting with her three-year-old brother outside their home on June 28.A minor girl was found dead at her home in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr on Tuesday, more than two weeks after she was allegedly raped by four minor boys, the police said.While the main accused in the rape case has been apprehended, two of the other accused remain at large. In her statement before a magistrate, however, the girl had denied the involvement of one of the accused, said the police.According to the police, the girl was found dead around 2 pm by her mother, who works as a pottery maker.The FIR was registered on July 2 under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section 70(2) (gang rape).In her police complaint, the girl’s mother said the sexual assault occurred when her daughter was sitting with her three-year-old brother outside their home on June 28.“The main accused arrived on a bike and my son started asking for a ride. At the same time, the other three friends of the main accused arrived there on another bike and took my daughter and son to a secluded room. Four of them raped her,” she told the police.The mother further told the police that she had learnt about the incident after her sister-in-law informed her. “My daughter returned to her aunt’s house and confided in her. She had stopped talking to anyone, and when my sister-in-law asked, she narrated the entire ordeal,” the woman told the police.Story continues below this adWhen contacted, the police told The Indian Express that the girl had been sent for medical examination and her statement recorded before the magistrate.“In her statement, she had denied the allegation against one of the accused. Her medical examination reports did not cite any injury on her body. We apprehended the main accused and are trying to nab the other two. We have sent her body for a postmortem and are now awaiting the report.
