India’s Akash Prime missile system scored a direct hit on two high-speed aerial targets during a test in Ladakh at 15,000 feet. Designed to perform in thin air and low temperatures, the upgraded variant strengthens India’s layered air defence. The test comes after its success during Operation Sindoor and paves the way for induction into new Army regiments. Developed by DRDO with Indian defence PSUs, Akash Prime reflects a broader push for indigenous, altitude-ready missile technology.
