(Source: Screengrab/Instagram)Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla Friday shared a mesmerizing timelapse video of India as seen from the International Space Station (ISS), calling it “one beautiful spectacle.”In a post on Instagram, Shukla said he captured the journey explained that the video was shot from the cupola window aboard the ISS and captures the station’s journey from the Indian Ocean along the east coast of India.From lightening flashes from thunderstorms all over the country to a dark region, which depicts Himalayas, to a sunrise in orbit with stars in the background, the video showcases the ISS moving from south to north, tracing India’s eastern coastline.Captioning the post, Shukla wrote: “While on orbit, I tried to capture pictures and videos so I could share this journey with you all. It truly is a mesmerizing dance of natural elements turning into one beautiful spectacle.”He added that the video was taken during the monsoon season, when it was mostly cloudy, so he was only able to capture a few shots. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Shubhanshu Shukla (@gagan.shux)He urged viewers to watch the video in landscape with screen brightness high and to feel as if you’re “sitting in the cupola and witnessing it yourself.”“Unfortunately I was up there during the monsoon season and it was mostly cloudy, yet I managed to steal a few shots of Bharat, one of which you are seeing. When you see this I want you to feel as if you are sitting in the cupola((window in ISS) and witnessing it yourself.”During a press meet on Wednesday (August 20), Shukla shared his experience aboard the International Space Station during the Axiom-4 mission. He said his experience will be useful for India’s Gaganyaan Mission.Story continues below this ad“Very soon, we shall see someone travelling from our capsule, from our rocket, from our soil,” he said.He said that the experience gained from the mission is invaluable and that the knowledge gained over the past year has been far more impactful than any ground-based training.Shukla was part of the Axiom-4 mission, along with three other astronauts.
