If you’re in Europe the financial rules are a lot tighter than the Premier League.“Players leaving on a free is not an ideal situation for a football club. That’s a situation we will have to see in the next 11 days.”SunSport revealed this week that Guehi is still wanted by Premier League champions Liverpool. The former Chelsea ace is rated at around £35m, despite having entered the final year of his deal.BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UKEagles chiefs knocked back a £70m bid from Tottenham for Guehi back in January. The centre-back subsequently played a key role in helping Oliver Glasner’s side win the FA Cup. We can’t register anyone. So from my side, he has to stay.“You see, we played with Jefferson Lerma in the back today. He’s a midfield player.“We have no centre-backs available at the moment, and if Marc leaves, okay, maybe I will try my boots, because I was a centre-back and this could be a good option. I will think about it.”Palace started last night’s match with Guehi, Lerma and Maxence Lacroix making up their back three.American centre-back Chris Richards was an unused substitute, while Chadi Riad is expected to remain out injured until October at the earliest.TRANSFER NEWS LIVE – KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOWGlasner did not have Eberechi Eze to call upon last night after the midfielder called in sick on the morning of the match.Eze, 27, is on the verge of sealing a £67.5m move to Arsenal, after the Gunners hijacked Tottenham’s swoop. After the game, Glasner admitted: “I’m responsible for Crystal Palace and I think he won’t play for us again.“So I have to prepare the team for Nottingham [Forest] and for the second leg against Fredrikstad, and I’m planning without Eberechi.”Justin Devenny started in Eze’s place for Palace’s European bow last night. While forgotten man Odsonne Edouard, who seldom featured while on loan at Leicester last term, came off the bench for the Eagles.ReutersJustin Devenny took Eberechi Eze’s place in the starting XI last night[/caption]
