The Bengaluru police booked city-based advocate K.N. Jagadish Kumar for his social media posts.Based on the complaint filed by Majunath K.H., the cybercrime police charged Jagadish Kumar under Section 196 (1) (a) (Promoting or attempting to promote disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred, or ill-will between different religious, racial, language, or regional groups, castes, or communities) of BNS.According to the complaint, Jagadish put up a post against the “Marwari community”, instigating people to protest against them with a clip from Telangana. The post provoked many, as is evident in the comments to the post, the complainant said.The accused has been booked earlier for similar offences, including provocative posts, and abusing public representatives among others through social media.Published - August 23, 2025 07:26 pm IST
