A sub-registrar from Vanasthalipuram was among two persons arrested by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹70,000.The accused S. Rajesh Kumar sought ₹1 lakh from a complainant for processing the registration of his property. He eventually accepted ₹70,000 through an intermediary, identified as K. Ramesh of Nagole.Acting on the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and recovered the bribe amount from Ramesh.Both Rajesh Kumar and Ramesh were arrested and produced before the court before being sent to judicial remand. Further investigation is under way.Meanwhile, the ACB urged people to report any demand for bribes by government officials via its toll-free helpline 1064 or through its official social media channels, assuring that the identities of complainants will be kept confidential.Published - August 22, 2025 07:56 pm IST
